This is designed to use when using a factory head unit or interface which normally take the bass note out once the volume is turned up so loud this bass machine takes that bass note and reproduces and cleans it up and puts it back so you get the full bass note I used it in my jeep and it does exactly what soundstream says it does it's a must have when using factory head unit
